Sorrento, Wine Tasting and Lunch, Pompei
This day excursion is designed for those wish to enjoy the highlights of the Sorrento Coast, the archeological site of Pompeii and a guided visit in a vineyard located in the national park of Mount Vesuvius where the famous wine Lacryma Christi DOC (Tears of Christ) is produced. We greet you at the Port of Naples (or your hotel) and make our way along the coast to the picturesque coastal village of Sorrento located on the bay of Naples. We spend the duration of the morning exploring this lovely town before taking the scenic drive along the sea to the vineyard, located on the fertile lower slopes of Mount Vesuvius. Glass of wine in hand, we enjoy the fresh air of the vineyards before sitting down to al fresco lunch with views over the Bay of Naples. You will taste six wines, paired with delicious antipasti of the area, a special pasta from Setaro of Gragnano (beloved throughout Italy for its quality and taste), and a final dessert course of pastiera, the local cake made from grano, ricotta, and one or two secret ingredients of the cook. At the close of the meal, you can enjoy the cantina's very special apricot grappa. Our day concludes with a visit to the archeological site of Pompeii, covered in ash in 79AD by Mount Vesuvius. We highly recommend hiring a guide, but you are welcome to explore on your own, too. At the close of the day, we return you to your hotel or cruise ship. Arrivederci! Winery lunch and tasting are not included in excursion price and are 20 euro per person, all drinks included. Total tour time is 8 or 9 hours
